Item Description
MicroSolutions CompatiCard I PC XT 8-bit ISA Floppy Controller VINTAGE 1987.
The CompatiCard is a versatile floppy disk controller card for the IBM PC, XT, AT, and compatibles. The CompatiCard can be used as a direct replacement for the IBM PC/XT floppy disk controller. It also allows the use of a 5.25 inch drive (360KB, 800KB, or 1.2MB in any PC, XT, or AT), and possibly other computers. For use with 8" Floppy Disk Drives, you will need a drive cable adapter. You can make an adapter cable yourself with some basic ribbon cable and a little work.
I have no way of testing the card, however it was working when pulled from my SWAN XT-10 years and years ago. The card is in good physical shape and has been stored in an anti-static bag all these years.
Includes:
- ORIGINAL manual (First edition September 1987).
- Additional documentation.
- ORIGINAL 5 1/4" floppy disk with drivers (the disk is readable and I just made copies of the files onto another computer).
- A floppy drive cable that I made way back when. Cable is 7' long and the connectors are about 1' apart.
This is a very rare controller and highly sought after. It is being sold as a collector's item.
Being sold AS-IS. No refunds. No returns.
